I use Hotwire often. There should be a way on the site to have it quoted in CDN funds. Regardless, if you are using a US credit card, they will charge you a slight fee for the transaction, usually chump change. My advice.....get the hotel you find to best suit your purposes, whether it be on hotwire, expedia or try www.mobissimo.com. It's like a mega search site. Good luck!
I use Hotwire a great deal and have for a number of years now. They have never failed in delivering great accommodations at a great price. Know the hotels in the area you seek as well as the star ratings and you'll have a great idea of what you'll end up with if you select their offer. You will ALWAYS be charged in US$ as the site is administered in the US and charges that way.
Why not go to the horse's mouth and find out.....so many replies but none addresses my question

Yes, it was a pain in the ass. I was on the phone for a about 15 mins. He had to read the full contract, I was on the freeway after driving all day and just got in to my state of Michigan and wanted a place to sleep. After he was almost done I seen a Hampton Inn and told the dude forget it...turn out I got the room for the same rate of a 3 star hotel..was higher at first but the water was cold so they knock off the rate...it was summer time so no biggie to me but I complain anyways, lol.has anyone tried to book a room by phone with hotwire as their customer service # shows up during the booking
I used hotwire for years and have found the deals not as good. I used to save 40-50% but now its more like 20-25% of the best rate. Hotwire over rates hotels sometimes too. I book 4 stars but then I see AAA rated it at 3 stars. Sometimes the hotel is far away too. I got a 4 star hotel in downtown Toronto and it was at the statium...no buses go down Front street either. Was a good 10 min walk--maybe 15 to Union station. Nice hotel--but then my room was waaaaay down the hall, really far. I think from my room to Union it took me about 20 mins to walk. Was the summer time and the hotel did have free bottles of water up front, so that was nice.
I still book off hotwire sometimes, only if I can't find a ok deal else where.

The USD thing is kind of annoying, it basically adds maybe 3 - 4% to the cost, because the credit card company of course takes a spread when they do the fx conversion. But in spite of that I have used Hotwire a lot, and I find the savings are around 30 - 40% typically.
I've used hotwire numerous times..they do charge in US dollars and the conversion is pretty fair..the fee on top of the conversion is minimal. Though I haven't used it recently (last 4 months..so it should be even better)
All in all..usually around 5-15 bucks more than wat ur paying in US (thats including the conversion rate from summer time)..so it shud be even better now at par.

Ok, I booked a 4 star hotel East downtown and got One King Hotel for $98.10 US for one night next week. Cool, I'm happy, great location. I was looking at it 2 days ago--pretty sure same place--and it was $103 US, so today when I seen it was $5 cheaper i went for it. That is total cost tax-fees.
So I saved like 40% this time--but it hasn't always been.
I didn't try pricline name your price cause I didn't want the Harbor Castle that is far out by the cold nothing to do lakefront area...summer time ok, not for right now.
