Hotels with Key Card Only Access to Floors?

I have not booked an out call to a hotel with a key card but started to think about it last week when I was in Montreal.

The hotel is mid level quality but has key card access to the guest floors only (Hilton brand).

I was in the lobby just checking in at about 10 PM and saw a young guy greet a woman who I was pretty sure was an escort. They just said "hi" and got right into the elevator together. It was not a greeting like "old friends" it looked like business.

My question, is that how it has to work with the key card access? You have to meet the escort in the lobby.

I assume there are texts and or calls to let you know her arrival is imminent, I can't imagine waiting in the lobby for like 20 or 30 minutes

That might be fine in larger busy hotels but I have been in some hotels that have small lobby areas and the front desk staff would have a pretty good idea on what was happening. That might make me a little uncomfortable.

Any other ideas on "how to" get the escort up to the room in this situation?

She should call you when she is just outside so you can cum down and greet and meet her indiscreetly.

Ottawa base.
I personally always text when I'm about 2-3 minutes away so the guy has time to come down, I show my face so obviously people know what I look like, but I still let them know what I am wearing and I ask them an approximate of what they look like physically.
I normally do a "French" cheek peck

Some hotels have open access to the first 2 floors
any higher and you need card access
I wonder if all hotels will go the room key access route when C36 comes into affect
as with the OP....some gents may feel a bit uneasy coming down for a meet and greet in the lobby in front of the front desk staff
the bigger hotels I don't think will be an issue people coming and going no biggie
but the smaller ones might be an issue

I don't think it matters.

I once booked a downtown hotel, checked in after my lunch hour, and asked them to give a key to "insert SP's name here" when she arrived around 9. I told the SP that I had done so. When I returned at 10 PM, she was in the room waiting!

I'd wager at least 10% of any hotel's business is related to romantic trysts, often where money is not exchanged (50 year-old exec with 20 year old intern). They must know how to be discreet.

Having worked in hotels I can say beyond a bit of tittering they don't care if some one has an escort to their room. Really they don't. The managers and owners don't care. As long as everyone is discrete they just don't care.

They can't "presume" that a woman meeting a man is an escort. Imagine if they are wrong?!? What then. You just confronted a hotel guest for no reason.

Don't worry about it. Just meet them however is convenient.

I don't see how this matters... no hotel worth anything just allows people to walk in anyways
Yes I am sure you could sneak by

Unless you are booking at a hole of a hotel and then really does it matter
Staff knows 90% of rooms are pros

There are tonnes of nice hotels that allow you to just walk in.

I can think of at least five upscale ones in the downtown core without any key access at all..

Not about the key access that defines a hotel's level of class, it's about the hotel itself.

Park Hyatt
The Hilton on University
Intercontinental on Front
Fairmount Royal
The Westin

A few years ago I met a lady at her hotel for a overnighter and as we were flying out the next day together I had my garment bag and a overnight bag with me when I went up to her room. As I was waiting in the lobby, a guy also joined me waiting for the elevator. We didn't speak and I pressed the floor and he looked at my bags and didn't say anything. We both got off on the same floor and we headed down the same way. I got to the ladies door and knocked and he walked by and entered the room a couple of doors down.

My spidey senses thought he knew what was up and that thought was confirmed later, when I was at the hotel bar and I saw the same guy walk out from the hotel security office and he saw me and just gave me a head nod. Just goes to show that most hotels knows when something is happening and that they don't really care as long as your discreet.

Oh good heavens. When you check in, get two key cards. Put one in an envelope and write her name on it. Leave the envelope at the front desk....

Or just go down and meet her.

How creepy must have been that nod the guy gave you?! He was like I know your little secret!

They must have changed their procedure. It use to be you had to sign in before they allow you in the elevator.
They still do that, on weekends mainly, if you try to enter the elevators without a keycard after 8pm.

They read you, guess if your a guest or not. Sometimes they don't and just call up to your suite to confirm your expecting someone before letting you go.

Depends on the security guard manning the doors. They've had a massive overhaul of staff changes, policies and incidental deposit changes within the last few months.

There are ways around it entirely though.

My experience was reverse - in that I went to her incall hotel which was key-card restricted. She just told me to call or text her a minute or two before I got to the hotel. Sure enough, as soon as I arrived at the elevator, she stepped out, gave me a hug and we went up to her room. If it was an outcall to my hotel, I would ask her to do the same thing, ie to call or text a couple of minutes before arrival. I would make sure to wait downstairs near the elevators for her.
