The Delta is fine. You need a key card to get in the front door after midnight but that has never been a problem. Just go down and meet her. Chat as if you are lovers on the way up, and the desk ignores you.

Super 8, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn - all reasonable and somewhat private

The Delta in Guelph is very nice but a pain too as you must pay and display for parking. I like Breanna's suggestion though it is a bit of a hike from the 401.
