A Toronto man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly having unprotected sex with a woman despite knowing he was HIV positive — and police fear he may have had multiple partners.
Carlton Davis, 46, was arrested and charged today. Police allege the suspect learned he was HIV positive in March and continued to have unprotected sex multiple times with at least one woman.
"There might be other victims," said Const. Wendy Drummond. "Our concern is we want to put his picture out there. Maybe people don't know his name but might recognize his face if they had an encounter with him."
He is believed to have been sexually active in both the gay and straight communities, police said.
Davis also faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon stemming from an alleged incident with a female victim.
