The built seems solid, may explain why it's found in good shape, although submerged..

10,000 feet down in very cold sea, no wood worms, much more responsible for its state that original build quality. But a ship built for ice would have started out strong.

erebus and terror were found in the arctic several years back up north....looking for the passage to Asia.
