Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question: Do many people in Toronto share 1 bedroom apartments/condos where 1 person uses the living room as a bedroom ?
1. If so, what do they use for partitioning /soundproofing/privacy.
2. Did anyone ever hear of someone getting in trouble with the landlord/property management for doing this
3. Because of exorbitant Real Estate price in NYC there are several companies specializing in selling, leasing and installing temporary pressurized walls to enable partitioning of rooms for sharing.

Given the continuous trend in rising rental prices I am surprised that this kind of company does not exist in Toronto yet.Maybe this could be a business opportunity - Or maybe the laws and restrictions are more stringent in Toronto than in NYC ?

Two bunk bed with curtains in the living room, you've added 4 people to split your rent. If you custom build the beds, you can make them 3 level and then you'd have 6 extra people sharing the tab and you still get your own bedroom to yourself.

I guess pressurized walls won't fly with most building fire safety regulations. But legmann, I wonder why it is not that common in Toronto when rental prices are at the same level as in Vancouver. I was just curious if property management of large condo/apartment complexes object to people using the living room as bedroom and maybe placing a curtain or room divider.
