Forklift CErt.

THere are many places.

Depending on you exp. some places will offer a one day course where they test you skill on the forklift and will certify for around $200.
If you do not have exp. you will need a full week course but don't think this will get you a job most companies that I deal with require both a cert. and ex.
Go for both counterbalance and reach.

We use Davis Training Centre Inc. (416) 743-8638. I just recertified through Davis a one day course $125.

Lifttow in Scarborough seems to be reasonably priced.

Good Luck.

Lifttow offers a good course as do some of the colleges that have weekend courses. It helps if you have driven a boat before as the trucks turn from the rear and can be a tad hard to get used to. Remember, when the company certifies you with the license, they are saying that when they saw you drive, you were safe at that time. It does not mean that you are a good driver. Personally, I will not hire anyone without 3 years experience as a forklift is possibly one of the most dangerous vehicles that there is. In my years in factories, I can't tell you the number of times I have seen people get hit, them flip due to excess load, or dropped loads. Good luck and be safe.

Well said Yesguy. Also, if I might add, be sure to check the condition of the truck trailer. I have seen lift trucks fall right through the floor of them a couple of times. Peace.
