Playbook doesn't even have email. Tiny screen. Of course it costs less.
A piece of paper and a pen are even cheaper. Lol.

So is RIM stock.

Yeah the email is not very slick but you can still check your email on the browser.. it's fine...playbook under 200 is way better then any iPad. You have have your tablet AND get 2 half hour sessions with an SP..

So play book is better cause it's cheap??
Well, like a lot of things in life you get what you pay for.

Also-when the play book first came out the price was the same as the iPad but due to the supply/demand principle of economics-namely it had lousy sales as its an inferior product Rim had to dump them. Hence the low price.

But enjoy. Each to their own.
Can you download books or magazines onto your playbook??

Sure I can download books and magazines onto my Playbook, I have a library of books in my Playbook.

Obviously you don't know much about the Playbook, unlike the ipad, playbook is better for multitasking and is not a closed system as ipad. You should compare before buying an ipad. lol Be a smart consumer.

seriously? i have the playbook too. i copied about 25 directories of songs to it. then tried the music app. ohoh. it won't show me the directories and songs. it regroups them in completely unworkable fake albums and genres. same things with movies. try copying a directory of downloaded videos. then copy 5 more and look using the movie app. there's no directory structure. you have to scroll thru ALL the files.

this is unusable once you get more than a few media files. i hope but doubt that they'll fix this.

the pdf reader has no search that i can find. again, tempting but unusable.

so, great hardware with some unique swipe concepts. very poor implementation.

That's why I was asking if you can do that with playbook?? Curious.
But I wouldn't ever want one. iPad is much better. Myself and the consumer market and the stock market all agree.
I wouldn't be able to do three quarters of the things I do with my iPad with a playbook. Like email. Lol
I have a few hundred books on my iPad and about ten or so magazines that I digitally subscribe to each month. It syncs seamlessly with my other devices which of course are apple. I don't have the time or inclination to want to tinker with computers ..
But glad you're happy. Tony321.

Do you have a power cord shoved up your ass? Do you have to have EVERYTHING and anything that's tech?
What did you do before Netflix became mainstream? Did you manage to live without movie streaming?
You're 50+ years old or approaching it anyways, honestly dude.

You sir are a corporate America's dream, just buy, buy, buy, be distracted by every little f'ing thing out there in the market, "want it, need it" and if you don't have it, you have to "get it".

Christ dude, get out a little. Get a dog, walk it, enjoy the outdoors, instead of sitting on your ass and watching Netflix on a 10" screen.
lol

Btw, as pointed out by Clear History, they will incorporate some Android compatibility, so maybe Netflix will be there for those who ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE IT and "NEED IT".

if someone is bragging about their playbook, they must be upgrading from a ... blackberry.

btw, the thing that is holding RIM back from android accessibility is the same as Samsung supposedly buying the company. it's just rumours... almost. they will get some kinda android support out, but really, what can you expect from a company like RIM? they lie to their customers repeatedly about new product launch dates or OS software upgrades.

RIM said early February 2012... we're now 1 week from March. last fall they said a new tablet was hitting the market in Feb 2012. now they relinquished that comment and restated it as an OS upgrade. imo, they have no integrity.

They're a mess.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that company.

RIM has been written off by all but their most loyal fan based, who seem to tolerate their numerous infidelities. If Playbook 2.0 upgrade is not present by February 21, 2012 then RIM should prepare itself to be carved up, sell the strong patents and the QNX technology arms, before they lose further value. RIM is emulating Nortel and will soon be in the same cemetery. This is getting embarrassingly consistant, the fu,ck ups, predictable.

Dude chill... tablets are a fantastic video streaming device, the netflix app is free, netflix is $8/month and has (at least south of the border) fantastic content available for streaming....

The Canadian idiots released a tablet without apps support, email, calendar or contacts.... it's a black slab of nothing....

As there are American idiots, well, usually that's just assumed when you say "Americans", however, that's corporate greed for you and I certainly don't feel sorry for them one bit.

But to nitpick over Netflix?

For apple to not put flash on their iphone/ipads is much worse than a movie/tv app for streaming.
I can't tell you the amount of times I've heard my cousin bitch about apple whenever he was given a link via email or had to click on a link and the site had flash content.
