If your the GM's in the league, and your smart.......you don't do a trade with him.

Think about it......he's over the Cap, has no goalie, only 3 defensemen signed, he absoutely has to unload some contracts.

If all the mangers refuse to do a trade........then what??

Good scenerio. Although highly unlikely to happen, what could he do to trim the salary. There has to be some sort of "out" for Clarke.

I'm wonder if possibly resorting to sending some of his younger players back to the minors, and bringing up other bare nuts minor leaguers on minimal salary. But that might not clear up enough.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a clause in the CBA dealing with just this same sort of situation. I mean, it's 600+ pages and the lawyers had a hey day with it. And we know lawyers - the good ones have absolutely every possible scenerio taken into account.

I have no basis for saying this, but I'd say he must be able to buy somebody out. Normally that would go against the cap, but for this situation he must be able to apply for an exemption from the league.

But, like I said..that's just my best guess.

here's a scenario..........

Clarke...........Hey (insert your favorite manager)..........I have a deal for you....how about I send you Roenick for your 2nd round pick in next years draft.

(insert your favortie manager).........thanks for the offer Clarkie........how about this one instead......you send me Roenick and your 2nd rounder and i'll send you my 6th round pick.

they have 6 defencemen signed: Mike Rathje, Derian Hatcher, Chris Therien, Mattias Timander, Joni Pitkanen, Eric Desjardins

qualifying offers have been made to Kim Johnsson, Dennis Seidenberg

someone will trade with him if it benefits them, this is big business not kindergarten

Kindergarten just started up........Clarke had to DUMP Roenick to L.A.......in order to get L.A. to take him, that had to throw in a 3rd round pick. What does L.A. give up.........Future Considerations.........LOLOL. In other words, they'll consider letting Bobby suck their dick.

Goober,

Point I was making was that Clarke would have to give up more than just Roenick in order for a team to take on the contract. Bobby after he made the signing of Forsburg, called and L.A. and asked for a 2nd round pick in return.......LA told him to fuck off. That is why this deal had to happen this way.

Roenick, 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder for Forsberg.

you make it sound like L.A. raped Clarke when he did exactly what he wanted to do, dump Roenick`s contract. Roenick waived his no trade clause and asked to go to L.A. or Phoenix and Clarke obliged him and got himself under the cap at the same time. No dick sucking involved. But you can still visualize it if you like.

I have to agree with you, dont really like Clarke that much, but he has done some good things in the last few days. Some of the comments on here seem a little too much to say the least. Thanks

The point being made is that the philly fans thought they would get something in return for JR. I had argued that a team will need to do a favour to Clarke in order to take the contract off his hands.

You see, the trade is Roenick, a 2nd rounder, Danny Markov for nothing in return.

So you can say, that yes, he got raped.

Okay......in the previous NHL CBA.............would Clarke trade Roenick a 2nd rounder, a 3rd rounder......and get nothing in return??

Of course not........but Clarke put himself in a position that he had to get down on his knees and suck somebody off in order to make the deal happen.

Do you think so? I haven't seen any reviews about him.

What's his rate? Stats? Incalls? C'mon, more info please!

Clark?

You forget that Toronto Professional teams do that for a living, Toronto's probably the most famous city for dumping high quality players for nothing. Let it be the leafs, raptors or the Jays

Heres another viewpoint, since he had to get under the cap he had to trade J.R.,and asked him where he would like to go to.

This kind of comment is definitely uncalled for.
