Ok, I've been a lurker for a long, long time here...I've ready many funny threads.
My favoriate poster is got to be Fuzzy Thumper. He just kills me.
Anyway, here's what happened. I'm pulling out of my driveway and I didn't see my other car sitting a bit to my right a way back. I didn't look over my right shoulder. I was looking in the rear view mirror on my left to see how close I was getting to the lawn. Then it happened...bang. I hit my car. Now I have a car with a bumper burn on it and a long 30 inch scratch, but on the other car. It got a crack in the door pannel....fiberglass and the skin has to be replaced. My bodyman friend told me that he doesn't think that they sell just the skin for the door and I may have to buy a new door. I don't think this will be the case, and it could be repaired, but non the less. Its still going to hurt.
Now I've been with my insurance company for about 20 years. I've had a few accidents in my time. Some of them bad and some very expensive. But in the last 7 years I've had my car hit while it was parked and they paid for it. The other was a bad pot hole that gave me $3000 damage that they paid for.
How is this going to look on my record...is it going to be one claim or two and will it affect me down the road. Your 2 cents will be welcome
P.S. Both cars are high end cars and I have others on my policy. So I would be considered to be a good customer I guess.
