Ok. So I have an infected ingrown hair on my shaft. What's the quickest way for it to heal? I'm desperate and I'll try pretty much anything. [No smart ass replies please]. Should I use aloe, tea tree oil, cortizone cream or vitamin E? I've heard that visine eye ointment and preparation h can reduce swelling for pimples.

It's totally gross and I want it to disappear ASAP without getting worse. Help me please. I should have left it alone and now I've broken the skin. Argh.

Note: I have booked a session for Tuesday. I'm afraid I look like I have an std. So I want it gone pronto. Or I'll have to cancel the session.

Ah, it just no fun if we can't make the smart assed replies, LOL

I'd check with the Doc or a walk-in. But it sounds like Tues is out of reach in any case.

But are you sure you really want to reduce swelling? (haha, sorry but on second thought, I just couldn't resist)

Use aloe right from the plant.

If you stop your damn picking (lol)and use it often you may make Tuesday.

Increase you Zinc Intake

It's not clear that any topical will increase the speed of healing. If it is not infected, it is best to just let it heal, although you will not cause damage with any of the salves you name. I would use the cortisone as a last resort.

That being said, increasing your intake of Zinc WILL increase the speed of healing (according to the last research report I read). Add it to your regular vitamin dose, provided you hve one. Otherwise, start.

ok first things first, let's assume that there is no pustule within the cut/boil. Le's assume it's a "clean", open wound. Without doing a dressing- i would do normal saline cleansing and irrigating (salt water Boil 1 cup with 1/2 teaspoon of table salt). If you want to use a topical cream use either neosporin or polysporin . use it sparingly, do not coat your entire waist in the stuff. if the wound is draining serous or sero san drainage (red, whitish pus crap)you might have to apply a dressing. if thats the case pay attention- normal saline cleanse, irrigate with normal saline, bactigras (chlorhexadine treated parafin wax mesh...some drug stores may have it- do not use jelonet...they may try to sell you that it's not the same), use sterile 2" by2" gauze and use mefix tape ( you can get that at SDM as well)...good luck

by the way...if you use purel on an open wound on your johnson you will regret that.lol. you may use 1% hydrocortisone cream as well if you have some, if not don't bother because you need a prescription for that cream.

If you have a clean and un-infected cut... use crazy glue. It will protect the cut and act as a "skin" while it heals.

or use "Nu-skin".. it is like a eurathane which seals and protects a minor wound while it is waterproof and lets it breath... put that on your tool!

I know I said I would try anything, but it's safe to say that crazy glue ain't going anywhere near my johnson.

Vitamin E and aloe vera are great natural healers. I use vitamin E capsules anytimeI get a cut and don't want it to scar. Just open the capsule and spread the liquid over the affected area.

ROFLMAO!

But seriously... No, do NOT put crazy glue on your "johnson". I build model airplanes for my other hobby and CA (or cyanoacrylate, or "crazy glue") can get quite HOT when it kicks on skin. It also forms a hard surface that would feel scab-like.

Where the confusion is coming from is that "surgical glue" (which WILL seal up a cut) is based on a less harmful form of CA glue.

Either way, you don't want it on your "johnson" when you're intending to use it.

clean the wound, keep it lightly bandaged for air/oxygenation. and if need be, use...

Mecca. it comes in a small orange container.

I personally recommend against polysporin as its not sufficiently powerful to kill ALL bacteria. [and when the surviving bacteria take hold and grow] you sometimes wind up with a worse problem than you began with.

Mecca is a more powerful anti-bacterial agent without the occasional side effect of spawning resistant strains. [like I've seen with polysporin]
