I am so frustrated with these ad pop ups. They keep popping up when I click on saved bookmarks, desktop icons or when I go to an internet site. Somehow they can identify the site I am on then ask me to participate in a survey under the pretence of the site I am visiting or there are a bunch of ads which appear on the home web page which appear to be ad ons. I thought I had gotten rid of them when I used Sophos and Malwarebytes to scan and they detected pup adware which I quarantined. These ads appear on my office computer which I never use to visit any "questionaable" sites or anything like that, just use the computer at work for "clean" work related research. Any advice on how to get rid of them once and for all would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had this once. It was called the "Win32.exe" virus. It attaches itself to windows as a real program then brings in Mal-adware. I found it using spybot. Its a bitch. I had to take my unit in and have it cleaned up as many security programs think its a part of windows.

It could be this or something like it. Unless you are computer savvy just do what I did and take it in to a geek. Mine was 85 bucks (with him updating everything and tuning it up) well spent.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I think I will take it in to a geek. Know any good ones in Toronto eg College Street?
