Have you tried contacting other SPs for tips or suggestions on good locations for the areas you're referring to? They might have a better idea of an optimal place for you to start up again.

Have you checked the UoG campus bulletin boards. You might find something that is suitable, such as a 4 month sublet with no roommates. Just a suggestion.
