heading to long beach

i'll be heading to long beach california in a few weeks for work... i'll be there for a week... i've never been there...

Don't bother with Disneyland, FLA version better.

I rented a car (go for mid-size or up) and drove costal hwy 1 to S.F. Big Sur. Santa Barabara to the north, & Wine country. San Diego to the south. No shortage of fun.

Universal Studio is worth a visit, avoid weekends unless you enjoy crowds.
Rodeo, Mann's, Santa Monica are recommended. SC by the airport can be pricey.

Cali is a great place to leave. You head notrh and you have Oregon and washington; there is a rumor that Canada is noth too. You head west and you have Mexico and South America

Head west and you have the eantire US

So head to Cali and then pick a direction

Just for the shock value alone a visit to Hollywood, Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd from Manns to Gower St, is a treat. Be careful, lots of petty crime, but from a people watching and holy-shit look at that angle it is great.

Wine country is great, did that last month, in the fucking wettest April on record, bet it would be nicer with sunshine.
