Due to the missing cell phone the civil case was dismissed but they are still going to trial.

Think about it a little deeper. There had been a string of allegations made against high profile men where those men vehemently denied wrongdoing, then were raked through the coals simply for the denial and basically calling the alleged victims liars. Public relations isn't as simple as you seem to think. If denial isn't working because it appears to be calling perceived victims liars, what then is the best option to protect your reputation? There is no good option, but the best option may be to find a middle ground. Don't explicitly call the accusers liars, but also don't admit your guilt. Say you don't remember behaving badly, but apologize for the possibility that you did, whether you believe it was a possibility or not. It doesn't matter if you know you're innocent or know you're guilty. When it comes to public relations, it's about minimizing the damage to your reputation.

Now I have no idea if Spacey actually did behave inappropriately with a minor, but I lean on the side that he did. But what I think doesn't matter. What is proven is what matters.

I have been blind stupid drunk, and I have never even contemplated trying to sleep with anyone I know to be underage, let alone contemplate it enough to think it sounds like something I might have done when drunk.
