Some reports indicate Iran will shortly test a nuke. The test will only to prove capability and not a threat to anyone. They will also leave the NPT and not engage in any further nuclear negotiations.

If this is true, good for them.
And they need to test multiple warheads, not just one.
They absolutely need nukes to ensure national security.

There would be a dangerous window though, if they test one and whether it fails or not, Israel might decide its their last chance to attack them while arguing they are justified to use nukes. Unless Iran can test it in a way that says they have other warheads ready to fire, it could be trouble.

They need to test only when they have it integrated with their most advanced ballistic missiles.
And they cannot afford to test just one or two.
They need to have like 20 to 30 warheads of which they test 5. Something like that.

In the absence of any additional corroboration, I have reason to treat this with extreme caution.
Let's get some perspective on this narrative which has gone viral in the last day or so and acquired a life of its own. The authors of this narrative are Larry Johnson and Pepe Escobar. Both reputable actors whose credentials go back decades when they first challenged the lies of Dubya/Cheney on GWOT and especially the Iraq debacle. Both of them emphasize that their reporting is based on a SINGLE source in Pakistan who is high enough in the hierarchy (ISI ?? Army CoS?? PMO??) to be credible for them. That Iran has the CAPABILITY is generally accepted by most experts (eg MIT Prof Ted Postel)
But the single most critical challenge that comes to my mind is WHY? And WHY NOW?? It would be fool-hardy for Iranian leadership in the current phase of the war , when they have the upper hand in the SoH, to give up their high moral standing in the eyes of the world. And for no conceivable gain.
I remain, however, to be persuaded.

I agree, its unlikely.

Though you know a lot of the world just learned that treaties don't work with america and you need the bomb if you don't want to be attacked.
Its pretty amazing how Israel is totally screwing over the entire world and destroying american empire at the same time.

No they just need to test one and say they have many mounted on their missiles and show some vids of the warheads mounted on the missiles and a cutaway. Experts will know at a glance that its real.
