What are they like?

Is it true that the floors are sticky all the time?

Do you have to be good at dodging things and is a trench coat the required attire...

....and are there any girls that go to these theatres

I was thinking of checking out the adult theatre on bloor

I've been to one a long time ago. I'd say over ten years ago if I remember correctly.

The adult theatre was simply an old run down once legit theatre.

The place looked like it had been built in the early 20th century.

Yes the floor had some sticky spots.

No dodging required since the place was still very large in capacity vs. the very small crowd there.

It was the summer time so walking in dressed in a trench coat would have been well not advised.

Didn't see any girls there that day.

Don't get your hopes up. With the advent of VCRs, cable tv and the internet there is no reason for people to go out to an adult theatre these days. Thus no economic incentive to open a really nice looking threate of this type.

I walked in once when i was 18, got this really weird look from the guy taking the money for the movie, didnt think anything of it at the time.
Went in and sat down, after about five minutes i was ready to wretch from the old cigarette stench. About 5 minutes later i heard a zipper being relieved of tension and decided i better run for my life.

Remember all, that in the days before home video and DVD players the world of "Adult Films" was very different than it is today.

Being in those cooze infested seats was disquieting enough.

I used to work at a porno theatre (located bloor/christie area). I would run the flick and change the reels. Afterwards I had to sweep up the joint and close the doors.

The majority of the clientelle were guys who were not allowed to watch porn at home. Sometimes they would jerk-off in their seat or just go to the washroom and do it. Most of the time they would blow their load into a kleenex or napkin then throw it on the floor. You knew the type because 10-15 minutes into the flick they were done and were heading for the door.

The odd time you would get couples who were into the voyeur thing. They would mostly hang out in the back and fuck.

Sometimes there would be guys who would meet and suck one another off.

Other times you would get the odd street girl who would treat the theatre like a hotel room and blow guys for cash. You got to know them and they would either give you a freebie or buy you a beer afterwards.

There was the odd shot-spot on the floor but if it was sticky it was mainly due to pop.

Nice gig, an opportunity to study for schooling purposes plus an insight into the world of porn theatres.

That theatre also used to have live entertainment between flicks in the 70's. One gal who used to tour N.America used to "Strip for God"...can't recall her name...
