Unlees you have some sort of means, be it leverage or actual cash, to start things up front on web site ads etc., and then some people you can control and trust to run a certain extent of the day to day operation, it comes down to personal risk/reward analysis. Not to mention a master manipulator when recruiting your "contacts".

dtwicked - I am just a little curious, how did you become a former driver? I am guessing it due to not enough work. Right now is the worst time to start a new agency. Oh yeah be prepared to be available 24/7 because it will become your life and don't forget to include all problems mention above.

Vanessa I think you got it right on.
My experience in this biz started when I was 16 and worked for an MP downtown on the famous Yonge St. Mall. I was out of it for many years then came back as a driver and later as a Dance Agency manager. Now as most know I sell advertising exclusive to the adult industry. I would agree that one of if not the most important factors for success in an agency is hiring the right personnel. And be prepared for super long hours. People skills and good intuition are a must.
To add more: Every year at around this time I experience a slew of phone calls of new people (mostly guys) who want to get into this biz. They seem to think it’s going to be lots of fun and they will make tons of money. <NOT> If approached with this attitude forget it. Don’t want to burst anybodies bubbles… but 80% of them fail. Most last only a few weeks. Some maybe a couple months. Almost none last an entire year. My suggestion to anybody (especially males) who have no experience in this biz is to first hire a very experienced female manager.
Just one more comment… IMHO…. From the few years I have been around. I have worked in many different type of businesses over the years. Mostly in sales or public relations. Yes every industry has its % of ‘problem’ employees. I have to disagree though that there is not a greater % in the adult biz. And please no offense to any one… just my observation that in this biz there is (for lack of a better term right now) a lot more ‘wackos’ then any other industry I have ever worked in. Believe me I deal with them every day. rotflmao.

As far as a business failing , new business ventures always have a high failure rate and it is not unique to the escort business.
If you do it be fair to people and try to keep loyal customers.
