Doesn't surprise me, for most Americans their geographical knowledge ends at the State Line. Most couldn't find Iraq on a map.

It's troubling that most Canadians couldn't pass the citizenship test without studying.

Does anyone remember that song about the provinces? "The provinces of Canada are fun to remember, fun to remember, fun to remember, the provinces of Canada are fun to remember, fun to remember, so sing them with me..." I learned it in grade school, lol.

Would these students even know the capital of the U.S. - I'm sure plenty would say New York?

My personal favourite:
Sarah is a new immigrant in Canada. Why can she choose to take a job like any man?
A She is woman
B Women superior than men
C Equal rights for men and women
D She is new immigrant
a woman with heavy Russian accent once told me Canada is women's country, so you better treat me good. Lol

Gee I don't know, maybe because english, one of the hardest languages to learn, has to be written in it's simplest form so that people whose first isn't english can understand it.

Blackrock, we've been through this before, you should really work on your critical thinking skills. Do you really think a new immigrant would be able to better understand the sentence "She is woman" over "She is a woman"? Or "She is new immigrant" over 'She is a new immigrant"? If that's your way of thinking, I feel sorry for you.

I was told a few years back, some people who write the citizenship test are allowed to have translators to help them understand the questions. It can't be that easy. How's your second language by the way?

Although I did only the first section, there were bits of English usage and word choice peculiar enough to throw me a few times. Perhaps this 'coaching exercise' was put together by someone whose first language was other than English, but my experience is that they're the ones whose grammar is good, because they took classes and who know the definitions from reading the dictionary.

It's the native-born, like grads from Scarlett Heights HS who seem to have the real problems with English.

This is why you vote for Rob Ford.
'Educated' pinheads don't know what the issues are on Main St.

Its like the CEO not knowing what his company sells, pathetic.

I'm curious whether this undirected post was meant to refer to any one or any issue in particular. I myself would sooner have voted for Ben Kerr than Rob Ford. At least Ben never publicly lied about a DUI conviction, unlike Rob—who just recently said everyone drives drunk. Is that the sort of Main St issue you meant, or is that pinhead ignorance? Anyway Ben gave good value daily to thousands, unlike Rob.

But on the topic of the municipal CEO we just 'constructively dismissed' for boozing, drugging, lying and generally not knowing what the company was there for I do agree. Pathetic, but after his third (or was it fifth) demonstration that all he knew to do with the rope that came with the job was hang himself, we cut him loose for his own good. And for Main Street's good, it goes without saying.

Loser. The Canadian Inferiority Complex strikes again.

Talking to Americans apparently beat out the original title "Laughing On The Outside"

Remember 2004 when Parliament literally made a federal case of Conan O'Brien's Triumph The Insult Comic Dog skit in Quebec?

Methinks Canadians can dish it out but can't take it.

BTW this useless latest garbage of Harvard not knowing Canada's Capital only further goes to show...You don't matter. Period.

Never have. Never will. Quit looking for vindication from U.S.
Yep. And you come on a Canadian site because something like Terb would be shut down in the US by the nutcakes who influence US morals.

Google The First Amendment Bear.

See up here we don't jail (the majority "shuns and scorns") losers like David Duke/Louis Farakkhan/Fred Phelps etc

They can preach their vile nonsense and not have to worry for a second about legal repercussions.

Unlike say Ezra Levant/Mark Steyn/David Ahkanew/William Whatcott Carleton University anti-abortion peaceful protestors being arrested becuase soem found the images offensive.

Threatening Ann Coulter with legal ramifications for "hate speech". etc

Nice Quasi Police State going on up there.
Yep, and while perusing Terb you probably have a bible in one hand and the mouse in the other.
