Are you sure your password was changed? I have an ancient hotmail account that I occasionally use for 'bad things', and recently I noticed hundreds of messages in the 'sent' folder that I never sent.

Some form of spam bot must have guessed my password and used my account to send spam. I'm not going to change my password because it's interesting to see what gets sent. Whatever entity is using my account doesn't seem interested in changing my password either.

Just another way that hotmail sucks.

Your experiencing a statistical dictionary attack. You should change your password. Firstly, you are legally in charge of that account. Secondly, please do the world a favour and stop sending spam.

I like my 5 character password though, it's easy to remember :)

Your 5 character password is easy to crack also. Try taking your existing password and adding some numbers/symbols to the end. For instance, switch from "mouse" to "mouse?" or better still "1BigMouse?".

My account was hacked into a few months ago as well. All my contacts were recieving spam from my account on a daily basis and I was getting "undeliverable" msgs. by the dozens. Since I changed the password I haven't had any problems. I gotta admit though, my original password was pretty easy to figure out. But I've had the same account since '95 and I didn't want to give it up.
Perfect example why...... Just today I recieved a email from someone I haven't seen in 25 years! Don't ask me how she found my email add. but who cares!.... HIYA FAZ!!!! LOL

Resetting your password isn't hard to do .... just follow the link mentioned above and follow the instructions.
