Had it done few years ago. If you hadn't had the procedure , this is what the dental specialist does, they slice a piece of tissue from the roof of your mouth, and stitch it to the receding gums. Once the bleeding stops from the roof of your mouth, you can drink right away and eat by chewing only with the the teeth not affected by the graft (in my caae , with my molars , since I had the graft done for my lower front teeth) for about a week. To make it easier to eat, I pureed my food or chopped it into to smaller pieces. Avoid any physical labour (it speeds the healing process) since it raises your pulse and blood pressure in the mouth, I took a few days off work.Anyone have gum grafting done.?
How many days did you wait to have a hot coffee/tea or a beer?
My instructions said you have to wait 24 hours before drinking alcoholAnyone have gum grafting done.?

Interesting. I did not take any of the painkillers. Kept them for future reference. Going for a second round next week. They want me to go 5 times. $ 11,000.00 total.I had it done today, and I'm recovering from it now.
It's a lot more painful than I thought it would be.
Thankfully my periodontist gave me strong painkillers![]()
Yup, its not cheap. I only had to get the bottom four teeth done, but it cost me $3,500.Interesting. I did not take any of the painkillers. Kept them for future reference. Going for a second round next week. They want me to go 5 times. $ 11,000.00 total.
Yeah, don't know if being in the downtown business area is a reason. Also, my dental benefit at work is very small. $1000.00 a year.Damn, that's quite pricey.....
Oh. I have not done the bottom yet. Later on. Many years ago I had one upper tooth done. Different guy and he was open to alloderm when I asked. He is no longer there and this guy I have now does not like alloderm.Yup, its not cheap. I only had to get the bottom four teeth done, but it cost me $3,500.
What's interesting is that my lymph gland is swollen from the surgery.
Turns out this is a normal reaction

Alloderm is taken from cadavers???!!!Oh. I have not done the bottom yet. Later on. Many years ago I had one upper tooth done. Different guy and he was open to alloderm when I asked. He is no longer there and this guy I have now does not like alloderm
True. A little creepy but I would think the roof of your mouth would endorse it.Alloderm is taken from cadavers???!!!![]()

Maybe some perios avoid it because it takes more skill and/or experience? This +1.
Don't let them harvest gum tissue from your palette... Let them use the zombie/lab-grown tissue. I had it done years ago and it was easy. (I raped my gums with hard brushing... but I'm cavity-free!!!)
Harvesting from your palette seemed to be way more difficult. My Perio waved the Zombie tissue in front of my face as the Easy Button and he was correct.Maybe some perios avoid it because it takes more skill and/or experience?
Dr. said my teeth are all right. But the gums have to come out. I need to see your girl. Contact info please.Had it done few years ago. My dental specialist was an absolute stunning beautiful Indian (east asian) babe about 30 years old with a hot body, made the procedure worth while. She was hotter than any of the east indian news reporters that you see on tv. Looked forward to the follow up appt. with her to remove the stitches.
Just be thankful the donor wasn't a fentanyl addictPS - It was after that gum surgery that I started banging SPs. Must have been the cadavers' previous life. I'm a victim
