I'm not a gamer but I've seen how realistic these games are, it's astonishing.

Apparently this game cost $1 billion - $2 billion to develop over several years, and it's expected to earn $2 billion on launch day and over $7.6 billion over the first 60 days after launch.

Insane numbers. Estimated to cost $80 per customer.

Who knew that those games we played in arcades as kids would evolve so much & become such big business that a single game would cost $1 billion to develop.

Half of the reason it cost them so much is because they had to rewrite a huge chunk of the game to take out most the woke nonsense that was originally planned. I have a feeling it's still going to be jam packed with it. Personally I'm not planning on buying it at launch

All the major video game developers have succumbed to the mind virus to some degree or another and they are all starting to implode as a result. Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft, EA and Rockstar as well. At least with Rockstar they saw they iceberg approaching and are trying to avoid it. The rest are probably going to go through major restructuring or even go bankrupt at some point.

Indie developers are where it's at if you're a gamer. They have the ability to ignore the woke and produce good games. The big developers have been putting out nothing but tripe for years now

Keep in mind that GTA6 has been a work in progress for over 10 years. This is R* biggest game so they are spending the time necessary to make it perfect. Payday only comes once every 15 years for them so $2B may sound like a lot of money, it really isn't. Even though GTA5 came out in 2013 is still a very hot game especially online and people still pay gobs of real money for in game upgrades.

Keep in mind that GTA6 has been a work in progress for over 10 years. This is R* biggest game so they are spending the time necessary to make it perfect. Payday only comes once every 15 years for them so $2B may sound like a lot of money, it really isn't. Even though GTA5 came out in 2013 is still a very hot game especially online and people still pay gobs of real money for in game upgrades.

I forgot about that. These modern games have in-game upgrades. Massive money printing machines. Incredible.

It's only in the Western/white world. This, sadly, includes Sony and Square Enix to an extent.

Look up Stellar Blade and any Asian gacha for counter examples.

The engine is exactly what you would expect of Rockstar. That is not the problem. The problem is story the engine was built for. As for my insight into this... let's just say I have friends in low places

No it's real due to investors. Again, look up Blackrock DEI. I think Vanguard loosened recently so Blackrock will follow.

Never understood why they wanted this crap because it's made Western games a bit of a joke.

I noticed in RDR2, for example, racial slurs for Chinese and Africans weren't used. The game does take place on a VERY racist era where whites were enslaving both so it would've been historically accurate for hard n-bombs and a word that rhymes with clink.

...please do not go this direction. I'm in motorsports, very fit, and have family. I'm also heavily into video games and have been since I was 4, which directly contributed to my professional success today due to obsession with efficiency and effectiveness (min/maxing.)

I understand people have different hobbies, and different values. And if you try to act like something is superior to another, you are asking to get put down =)

The thing about GTA V is that they released it a few times. First on the Xbox 360/PS3, then on the Xbox One and PS4. Plus, they added the online stuff where you could pay to give your in-game character money to buy homes, cars, hideouts etc....I don't know how much that brought in, but some people either grinded or bought money to be flashy as fuck...
