I wonder what Dana does in this type of situation. People bought tickets to see a title fight with GSP but now he's out so do they get compensated?:frusty:

I just called Ticketmaster and Expedia tonight. I got all my money back except for $50 that Westjet took as a cancellation fee.

I'm glad that you were able to recoup most of your money.

I don't know about GSP about faking an injury but having watched his last 3 fights (all decision)...Penn vs. Diaz would be just as good or even better.

GSP is definitely not scared of Condit....

But I wouldn't be surprised if his injury is not as bad as he lets on....
But being the "safe" guy that he is he won't fight unless he's 100 percent (or close to it) unlike Silva or Aldo who will go in a fight with an injury rather than pulling out of a fight....

Yea, I found it odd that as soon as Dana told everyone that GSP is out with a knee injury the next day GSP's trainer Firas Zahabi made a statment and said that GSP can fight in 1 month. What kind of knee injury would hold you back from fighting in 1 week but it wouldnt be a problem for you to fight in 1 month?
Odd statement. If you have a knee injury it should take a few months at least until your 100% and ready to fight.

Like Manji said and word is around UFC circles GSP does have an knee issue but its not that bad. GSP will only fight if he's 100% unlike most other champions and fighters who will fight if they're less then 100% becus "they dont want to let down the fans". Safe Pierre is not a true warrior so It doesnt surprise me that he pulled out. Diaz/ Penn was the fight to watch anyways.

I don't know about most boring fighter of all time but he is the most boring Champion of all time fursure.
He's the only champion who is content on not doing any major damage to his opponent or sub-ing them jus as long as he wins 5rds on points fight after fight.:frusty: Ssssafe Pierre

Totally disagree.

Tim Silvia is primarly a striker and far from a grappler. Most of his fights ended in him KO his opponent or himself being submitted.

This is the Guy who fought Arlovski, Mir, Big Nog and Couture?

No that would be Tim Silvia - look in a dictionary under the heading "lay & pray" and you'll see Silvia's picture.

Wasn't boring when Ellenberger knocked him out.

The 1st round against Hendo was good and props for Shields in comin back, but yeah, what's he done lately in the UFC?

If it wasn't for the Split Decision Win over Kapmann he'd be winless.

Shields isn't to far behind as well.

Now his trainer Firas Zahabi is recommending GSP move to lightweight division?wtf

"I'd rather him go down to 155 because Georges is not a very big welterweight. People might think he is, but he's actually not very big, and him making 170 is extremely easy for him"

How can he say that GSP isnt a big ww, doesnt he walk around between 190-195lbs?

According to Zahabi he was 183-184 before this camp. So no he is not a big WW.

Having stood right beside him I can tell you that they exaggerate his height as well.

We can also look at it this way: he has one fight at 185 (not a lot of superstar talent) against a MUCH bigger (taller and heavier) opponent in Anderson Silva - who walks around at ~220, or a bunch of fights at 155, a much deeper division. And yup, having met him, I can confirm GSP is not a big dude.

Further, if he moves up to MW, there's a chance he can never move down again. I look at the boxers who somewhat recently added muscle to move up and were either unable to move back down (Bernard Hopkins) or if they did, were never the same again afterward (Roy Jones, Jr., Antonio Tarver.)
