pollicitation (puh-lis-i-TAY-shuhn) noun

A promise or an offer made but not yet accepted.

[From Latin pollicitation, from polliceri (to promise).]

We use floccinaucinihilipilification a lot. In my circle, we always pronounce it "flocksi . . ." , but whatever gets you thriough the night. It doesn't just mean that something is unimportant - flocksi is the name for the quality or habit of saying/thinking that valuable things are mere trifles.

We capitalize Nihilarian. It's the name for a follower of certain beliefs, like "Christian". We don't use the word as an adjective.

You often hear the word 'selcouth' in speech, of course - but until now, none of us had ever seen the word used in an actual sentence; so hats off to you on that one.
