Any one know where there is a good Ramen restaurant in Toronto?

The closest I got was a place in Markham, but it was modified for Chinese tastes. So, that would be a Chinese approximation of a Japanese approximation of a Chinese dish.

You've never had Ramen noodles? They are a packet of cheap noodles with a little pack of seasoning that comes with them. You can buy them like, 10 for a dollar. Excellent meal for poor college students :)

No kidding, they are equivilant to cup of noodles and such that you can find in any Loblaws. Down in the states I know they sometimes go for as cheap as 3 cents a package because they know University/College students buy them up by the truck load as it's a cheap meal :)

I know for myself, I'd rather just take a trip down to the local chinese rest. and order some wonton noodles as that tastes a lot better and for what? 4-5 bucks tops.

Real Ramen is nothing like the store-bought crap

You people obviously haven't had the real deal yet. It's nothing like what you typically find out of a package. If served properly, it's actually quite a meal.

Lenny, unfortunately, there's nothing like Dosanko Ramen (N.Y.C.) in Toronto. I believe the Okonomiya House on Isabella between Yonge & Bay serves something similar to the real deal and more towards what you're probably looking for.

Escohort, your probably thinking about the second war movie named The bridges of Ramen. Didn't the guy who played Perry Mason star in that movie I think his name was Ramen -------

How about this for a beginning story line: Cold and hungry YYC and Goober entered the fabled barnyard of Emperor Fang.

Escohort, not for one minute do I want you to think I could make it hard for you! Lets not go there ok? If YYC does those kind of things for you well thats between you and YYC.

I can only guess that you might've spent some time in Japan and crave slurping on a hot piping bowl of ramen as you watch the world go by...

You would be hard-pressed to find such a place in TO although the closest 'Chinese approximation of a Japanese approximation of a Chinese dish', as you put it so eloquently, would be in a plaza at Warden + Steeles.

Can't remember the name of the restaurant - its Japanese, run by HK owners. It has a unique concept - its all-you-can eat for a fixed price (more expensive for dinner and on weekends), but you order by number. You're given a menu where 95% of the items are all-you-can-eat. For example, you can order item #67 50 times if you like! Alcohol of course, is extra. Bearing this in mind, portions are smaller, including their sushi. I remember there being approx. 8-10 items under 'ramen' (They even have kyushu ramen). Eat your heart out!

Cheers!

Good suggestion, although I'm pretty sure they dont serve ramen. They do have yaki-soba, though. *Almost* as good as rush hour in Shinjuku station.

Cheers!

Kenzo.

Just south of Yonge and Steeles on the West side. The first plaza south of Centrepoint Mall.

Doesn't one of the Korean/Japanese restaurants in Korean village (Bloor, between Bathurst/Christie) serve ramen?
