What were they thinking? Even back home you will need to get facts straight before confront with others wrong doing, never mind in Caribbean island mouthing off with the local. this is typical example of someone disregard local authority and takes matter in their own hands.

You mean slander? Well yeah, why not? Sexual harassment is a serious charge, so you better have your shit straight if you're going to start calling out someone on it!
That said, it seems excessive to charge them since they had already apologized for their mistake and weren't insisting he was a criminal.

Here's a situation I encounter all the time. I'm in a park, a store, a mall, a library, etc. I hear a kid screaming bloody murder at the top of his/her lungs.

Questions: Is that kid just being a stupid kid? Or, is that kid being abused? What, if anything, should I or you, do?

There are a lot of hypocrites in this world. I bet if they were here with the rest of us talking about some other couple in a similar situation, they wouldn't be judging the Canadian embassy on their inaction. But they got themselves in a mess in a foreign country and thought being Canadian was their trump card....
