Advice would depend on what you want to experience/what you like. How long you're going for. How much you want to spend. The only guys I've known who didn't enjoy going to Thailand are guys who only had an interest da pussy and none in the place.

I just got back last week. I had a great time.

Anyway, I recommend going to Pattaya for action. It's a beach resort town about 2 hours by bus from Bangkok.
I stayed in a condo rather than a hotel. It's cheaper, nicer and more "guest" friendly. PM me if you want some information about where to stay.
The taxis are crooks. Beware.

For Bangkok, I'd recommend Soi Cowboy. It's a nice laid back spot with many bars. Nana is a bit filthy, I didn't like it.
Once done with that, maybe head to Pattaya.
