Me and some friends are driving down to see the Jays. Can anyone recommend an affordable option for a clean, decent motel/inn/hotel in the area of the ball park? We spend little time in the room as we are more likely to be eating out, drinking beer than chilling in the room.

We did a road trip to Pittsburgh earlier in the season and loved it. Go, Jays, go.

keep driving on michigan ave out of the city, there is venus strip club on the right hand side),great place for cheap menu(wink wink),ignore the dive motel beside the place where "working girls" hang out, drive past venus for another less than 1 km and on the left hand side there is a decent price place(sorry forgot the name of it)

Actually, you might want to try the Viking Motel On 2720 Grand River Drive. You can score a room for as little as $30 if they have a vacancy. No frills motel. Most you will pay is $50. Owners & staff are Indian and speak broken English. They are kind of rude but for that price I will put up with their bullshit. Some real hotties in that area who appear to be working girls.

Ask the owner how to contact Lamar or Marshawn. They sell some of the best weed I have ever had at ridiculously low prices compared to Toronto & New York.

Take it from a guy who has lived in the shadow of Detroit nearly his entire life..... I would not stay anywhere near the stadium unless it was in one of the larger hotels down on Jefferson and unfortunately those are quite expensive. The budget hotels/motels in the area, quite honestly they are just not safe. Maybe try to score some decent priced rooms at one of the casinos???

I avoid sex trade and drugs when I go to the US as I want to be able to travel to the US and not get busted or barred entry if arrested for smoking a joint.

Just looking for a Stay Inn, Motel 6 kind of place even. I don't want to be mugged or have my car broken into. I don't need a major chain place.
