There's a "Err" message on my radio caused by its CD player which makes an intermittent sound that doesn't stop when the car is on unless there's a CD half way inside. Is it possible to stop the sound without pulling the fuse on the radio?
I don't care if my CD player works, the car is a few years old

depending of the model and year. You need to take out 2 fuses from the main panel. This panel might be inside the engine compartment. 1. for the radio. 2. the other for the amp.

Take out and then turn your car on and drive it around the block. Your gages and odometer will not work as it is the same fuse.

The replace the fuses and gook luck.

I'm wondering if I need a new fuse, or would the radio CD be dead if that was the case? the radio still works.

It's not worth for me to fix, I just want to get it to shut up, stop making a buzzing sound...

Tia, Sawatdee Kaa. Can you come over and point out which fuse? In mini-skirt & heels please. Which I hold the flashlight. Just kidding. You can spank GT. A girl that knows cars, hot!

Same thing happened to friend's GM. It was annoying. We end up pulling it out and put it replacement he brought from junkyard.

I replaced the factory stereo in my car with a Kenwood. It plays MP3 CDs.

When I make my own compilations on CDs, I like to place an Avery label on the CD. My CDs just would not work in the Kenwood. After much trial and error, I later found out that the problem was the label I was placing on the CDs. It seems that the tolerance is very tight in the CD player, and the label messes it up. After I removed the label, the CD worked fine.
