Anyone know of a way to fix scratches on the lenses of glasses?

" The most popular “home remedy” for scratched glasses is applying a paste made from baking soda and water. But, like any at-home hack for removing scratches from glasses, it’s meant to wear away at the coating on your lenses until the scratches aren’t as visible. Not ideal! We’ll tell you how it’s supposed to work, but we definitely don’t endorse it."

Take your glasses to your optician and see what they say. They'll likely tell you to replace the affected lens. It's just a matter of how badly the lens is scratched and if it's affecting your vision. Unless it's a major scratch, you'll likely won't even notice it.

Needless to say, get yourself a proper case, micro fiber cleaning cloth and spray. Never use your shirt, paper towels tissue to clean your glasses.

Not sure when the last time you went, but the optician will try to upsell you on lens coatings. The upsell happens more at optical shops in the mall like LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, etc., but your eye doctor's office might do it too. They all have expensive equipment to pay for and that's the reason for the upsell.

IMO, the only coating worth getting is the anti-reflective AR one. The coating helps cut down on glare when night driving and using your computer. I've used AR coatings on my glasses for years and they work well. An anti-scratch coating may or may not be worth it and I don't know how effective it really is. An anti-scratch coating won't help if you throw around your glasses constantly.

A new lens coating they've been promoting recently is called blue-light filtering. I tried it a few years ago and didn't notice a difference vs not having it. It's supposed to block the blue light coming from your smartphone / computer screen. Blue light is supposedly bad for your sleep and health over the long term. The problem is that there are studies that claim that blue light isn't as harmful as it's being portrayed. You can certainly try it if you're prone to eye strain or headaches when using the computer.

If you have a regular optician/optometrist and the scratch is minor, they'll be able to fix it, usually free of charge. If too deep, then they'll recommend new lenses. Been there myself.

Lots of ways on youtube, but keep in mind that any anti reflection coating will be removed.

if you can look past, through the scratch it might be best to do nothing until you get replacement lenses - for the reasons others have pointed out
