Giving up this hobby

Guys, this ain't a review, but I need your opinion.
Have been having thoughts of giving up this hobby for a number of reasons - expensive, risky, etc....I know of a few others out there who have retired. For their own reasons, they always seem to come back. What do you think, do I have a chance to give up this stupid hobby?

Why are you putting so much pressure on yourself???

If you feel like this now, why not just tell yourself that, for the next little while anyway, you will not pursue this hobby. Then, you will not feel defeated should you wish to order out once or twice in the future. This way, if and when you do partake (after all, never is a really long time), it will be when you really want to and be exciting and fulfilling rather than ordinary and empty done more less out of habit.

Don't battle the current. Be a little kinder to yourself and go with the flow and enjoy the ebbs and tides of life...

Totally agree, man. If you're feeling low, then take a break, but don't put undue pressure on yourself by labeling yourself "I quit." Lots of guys (myself included) have taken breaks, thought and re-thought their choices. Some have taken up the hobby again, some haven't.

I am also thinking of taking a break as a New Year's Resolution, (maybe putting what I would have spent on this hobby toward contributing to relief for the South Asia tragedy), but mainly because I'm not feeling as into this hobby as much as in the past - we'll see.

In the meantime, I hope you come to the decision thatr's right for you

I for one have tried to give it up several times. New Year's is my newest try. Two things keep drawing me back - this site and porn sites. If you are really serious, try to cut out those two things too.

I think that the best way to beat the hobby is one day at a time. Tell yourself that I will not partake for the next day. Then again the next day, then the next day etc...

Hobby??? I agree with Gord. Stamp collecting, model building, bird watching, reading , etc. can be described as hobbies.

This is not a hobby, Jabba. This is pure unadulerated lust!! This is passion procured by choice. This is love for sale!! This is all about satisfying your overpowering sexual needs!

Jabba, don't feel guilty about this . It's all about normal natural sexual feelings and needs. As long as you're not hurting someone else in the process, it's ok.

Y'know, I agree with everyone's thoughts on this thread. That's what makes this board so interesting. I guess this hobby, need, urge, or whatever the hell it is also weighs on shoulders other than my own. Thanks for sharing folks!

Upside is exactly like Gypsy says & WTF - you only live once. I want my memories to be good ones & not guilt-ridden. Downside is lately, I've been going for quantity over guality. The laugh is, at the end of the day - if I had to write my biography what kind of worthwhile stories would I tell my children about myself?

I have tried to quit, mainly because I cannot afford it. YET, I get something from the ladies in the biz that I wont get at home, and that is the joy of just a mindless sensual experience. Will I ever really retire? Maybe...I turn the big 40 and I notice Iam only horny about 20 times a day as opposed to 25, so who knows?
