EVERYTHING can be funny even if it's tragedy.
Thank God for people with a sense of humor.
Sure the SP was an idiot but I got a laugh out of this thread. Silver lining and all that ...
Yes, but it has the potential to not be funny to some one who depends on insulin to survive.
Maybe I am too sensitive to diabetes, having lost my father to complications, or having seen a friend nearly have his leg amputated due to complications, or the 15 year old diabetic daughter of a friend nearly die of respiratory infections due to a weakened immune system, or my own battle against the disease.
It is bad enough that some diabetics feel very cautious about being seen with insulin syringes bacause some people think that they are addicts, or just don't understand. I am sorry if I made JWM or any one else on TERB uncomfortable. But, some diabetics and/or others may have equally been uncomfortable with the 'H' association to the insulin syringes, just as the lady who visited our friend and essentailly ripped him off.
Anyway, all I am saying is, let's have fun, but please be careful about what we say and, at least point out to any one who may be offended, that it is intended to be in good fun. Occasionally, I have been known to laugh at myself, as many of us on TERB occasionally do.
