No way to trace any funds as a taxable income.
Plus numbers on them can be texted on a cel phone to anyone in the world for them to spend as a way to 'send money' with no broker fees.
Of course scammers use them to move money in the same way.

As a not since I used Amazon enough I often have my friends pay me back for stuff via Amazon gift card. Convenient. Could see sps using it as well.
