Anyone every grab stuff for an SP on the way to the meeting ? I just got asked to stop at the liquor store.

I passed on the call because of that. Too harsh or appropriate ? What do you think ?

I try to visit SP's in the morning, so I routinely offer to bring a coffee, no one has ever asked to bring anything...For regulars I usually offer to bring some breakfast also (again...morening guy). If an SP asked to pick up a 40 pounder of bourbon I would probably pass also...

I have never been asked to bring anything. I have willingly and voluntarily brought coffee, breakfast, lunch or even take-out dinner sometimes depending on the time of the day. I'd most likely pass too if I were asked to stop by the liquor store.

Like Ryan, I am a Morning Practitioner as well. offering coffee for a First timer seems to bring a smile to their faces...the regulars appreciate it as well. For some reason, and I cannot explain it, the liquor thing is wrong.

I've been asked to grab a can of red bull.

I have also voluntarily asked if a regular of mine wanted something from starbucks cuz I was hanging in there while I waited for the call back from agency.

Something small and casual I'm fine with it.

I've been asked to pick up condoms or other small items on rare occasions. I routinely ask (time permitting) if there is anything they would like or need but never have been asked to pick up booze. It would make me think twice about how the session would go, you were probably wise to bail.

I was asked to get a large can of beer for an ebony provider in Gatineau.
It was a small request so I figured "yeah, ok - what the hell..."

I got da booze & regretted the session. Oh well, live and learn.

IMO - don't get stuff. If they don't have the basics, you're going to be disappointed.
Just a waste of time and $$.

It's an interesting question.

To me it's a question of whether the sp is comfortable enough with you to make a request like this ( a good thing, assuming it's a repeat visit ) or is she really just taking advantage of you ( a bad thing )

You have to decide for yourself

Probably a good idea to bail. There are booze delivery services available, if she really needed something. She likely wanted you to foot the bill for what you picked up at the LCBO.

To me it's a matter of being thoughtful. It never hurts to bring something. Wine, chocolates. One SP I know well I brought a toy for her young son. It was much appreciated.

Like they say, gifts are not expected, but are always appreciated. I just love the smile on their faces when I bring something unexpected. Never tried booze though.:)

Her place
Offered by me: coffee, breakfast/snack, wine
Requested, primarily by one former ultra regular: Red bull, condoms, fake eye lashes (that was awkward trip to Shoppers, let me tell you), rolling papers, pizza (I said "umm...how about after?"), beef jerky.

Booze, especially for someone I don't already know well, would be a no-go

I should quantify this. I have never seen this sp. I have picked up nondescript items before for familiar Sp, I.e. Redbull, coffee ect.

But this one befuddled me. She also said I could just give it to her as a tip lol

My girl asks for wine, but then are time together is free and no time limit on her part. Yesterday she asked me to bring a timmies chicken wrap next time. No problem. I just have to keep the amount of wine to a single bottle, when we get into the second she falls asleep on me.

I've had a few encounters where the only cost was the "gift". Condoms and a bottle of wine, another time a 6 pack, and once for a bottle of vodka and some candles.
