Getting prints from a newspaper?

David Beckham 23

I'll bend it like........
If there's a picture you want to get from a newspaper and use it as a picture, how does one go about this. (I know I can get a clipping)

I'm looking to get a print of a picture from a paper to frame but I'm not sure where to start. I guess I could try to contact the paper.

Any advice?

What you would need to do is contact the newspaper in question to ask but be warned that unless one of their photogs took it, you will then be referred to whatever corporation owns the distribution rights for the picture in question. I assume you then might be able to get one sent to you just like fan clubs send glossy photos of actors but you will likely have to pay a stiff fee for that.

Regardless, phone the newspaper and you might get lucky. Good luck.

Some suggestions:

1) Use a scanner. This is your cheapest, most versatile, but worst quality, option.

2) Many corporations and governments release official photos to the media and are available from their web sites. You can usually get some freebies from their website, but they are usually in some weird hi-res format, like TIF. If you want more, contact the organization in question.

3) And of course, contact the newspaper for the picture in question.
