The teenager who killed 15 people during a school shooting spree in southern Germany last week was looking for a second school to attack "for fun", according to the man he held hostage as he fled the scene.
Tim Kretschmer jumped into the back of Igor Wolf's car shortly after murdering nine pupils and three teachers at the Albertville secondary school in Winnenden, near Stuttgart. The teenager held a gun to Mr Wolf’s head and forced him to drive away at high speed.
Mr Wolf, 41, breaking his silence about his ordeal in an interview with the weekly German magazine Stern, said that he asked Kretschmer why he had embarked on his rampage. “He answered very loudly: ‘for fun – because its fun’”, he said.
He said that the teenager then asked: “Do you think we can find another school?” Not knowing the exact death toll at Albertville, Kretschmer added: "I have already killed 15 people in my old school and I'm not done yet today."
