I am going to get the snip tomorrow morning and wanted to ask if anyone on here has been. they have quite a few testimonials on their site and just wanted to ask for first hand knowledge. How long before the area was ok to give er a go again...........etc.

Please post your experiences if you have any.

Got my snip several years ago. Almost no pain during the procedure... just a couple of feelings of "squeezing" that got a-l-m-o-s-t to the "Oh my god what am I doing!" stage. I'm assuming that's when they did the actual "snip".

Followed the doc's recommendations re: cold packs (think it was 20 min on/ 20 min off) and used a bag of frozen peas for the cold pack (very nice since they "conform" to your shape better than ice cubes)

Took one T3 that night "just in case" but never really needed them

Took it easy for a couple of days, but then had to fly out of town for a couple weeks so didn't get back in the saddle until I got back

Enjoy sex lots more now since there's no "what if" floating around in the back of my skull.

Yup, the shave part is best left to a steady hand.
Well in my case the doc's intern was a beautiful blonde lady of Danish extraction so maybe I should have left it for her to do.... Oddly enough even though she was handling my stuff I wasn't really turned on...... :)

I went to the one in oakville, its was no problem at all. Just up the steet is a SC I forget the name (close to the Ford plant), I suggest you go there ahead of time, release the swimmers one last time, you'll be out of commission for about a week so its best you get a load out first.
The procedure was quick and painless, best thing you'll ever do.

Will they do it for a young guy (early 30's) who's never had kids? I've wanted one for years but friends/family told me they'd never give me one. If it is allowed however, I'd like to get one.

I think you need a note from your Doctor? I had my vasectomy done when I was 30 with no kids.

Not only did I need a note from my family doc but I had to go meet the Urologist in advance as well:eek: .

In those days (early 1990's) there was no such thing as a gentle vasectomy clinic. You had to have it done in a hospital setting.

I had mine done when I was about 34-35. I got a referral from my doc (not sure if I had to go that route, but that's what I did) after explaining that I had decided when I was a teen that I didn't want kids and there'd been nothing to change my mind since then.

He did make sure that I understood that reversal of a vasectomy is a) paid by me and b) fairly low chance of success.

When I indicated that this was okay by me that was the end of it.

I think to this day that you still need a referral from your family doc if you are in your early 30's or a bit younger and have no kids already.

No big deal....

I've had it done (the regular in hospital kind) and it wasn't really that big of a deal. I think my wisdom tooth extraction was way worse. During the procedure the Doc and I had a great chat about the playlist on his Ipod.

Just listen to the post procedure stuff they tell you and you'll be back at it in no time. Lots of rest, no heavy lifting, and ICE packs!

DON'T DO IT! Don't get a vasectomy! Your voice will be 2 octaves higher afterward. Think "I want to populate the planet" when the doc raises your balls to your chest and then SLICE, DICE.......It is ILSA THE WICKED WARDEN cutting you up! Yikes, it can't be reversed!!

I'm just messin' wit ya. :p

But, still don't get a vasectomy. There's no reason, none at all, to do that, even though many "men" get it......ridiculous.

I got it done a few years back at the Oakville office. No big deal. Done on friday (total of about 20 mins), minor discomfort over the weekend, back to normal monday.

Plenty of reason to get it done. I don't want kids... I do like to have sex.... ergo let's take the bullets out of the gun.

Just got back 30 minutes ago and all is well. All you feel is a little bit of discomfort and that's about it. When he is burning the ends of the spaghetti stuff it is a bit unnerving but it is all good so far.

I had no refferal from my doctor and if you feel and pain he will put a little more freezing in you to get rid of the pain.

What, you didn't let the swim team out one last time prior, shame on you!

Sorry I couldn't Resist!

Gentle Vasectomy Clinic? This is an oxymoron. LOL. There is nothing "gentle" about this.

So how did it go?
