More women than men pass their genes on to the next generation, meaning that a few men father the children of multiple women, while many men go childless, based on a recent analysis of current living human DNA.
I thought I'd mention it as there was a discussion here awhile back about whether monogamy is natural. This is some evidence in favour of the idea that it is NOT.
However, I still maintain my prior position that genetics are no longer a significant factor in human social structure: we can and do overcome a variety of genetic factors to build a society which is very much different from the primitive, barbaric, prehistory we rose from.
