GE is considered "old school".

Anyway, the parts might be worth more than the whole.

I vaguely remember CP (or was it CP Enterprise?) spinning off 3-5 parts to try to enhance shareholder value.

They been going downhill ever since the Dave Letterman "GE handshake" incident...

I have lived though United Technology split to airplane market, Carrier A/C and Otis Elevators. Stayed with RAY, which was airplane raytheon and martin marietta merging. RAY is doing fine.

Well I went with United Tech, as my toe hold into jet engine manufacturing. Ge does it too, but has so many other parts in the same ticker.
