I went to high school with a guy that was the son of a independent garage owner. Later he took over the garage from his father. There was this huge console with an oscilloscope and other devices built into to it, like vacuum and volt meter. Was this machine a snake oil roadshow or was it necessary to do work on older cars. I never ever saw anyone actually use one of these machines at this garage or any other.
