Women only tend to play the RPG MMO type games like World of Warcraft, Guildwars, Diablo 3... Coincidently, those are the most dangerous types of games in terms of having the potential addict you and ruin your life.

The gamer culture referenced is really talking about consoles and PC games which is a relatively stagnant market segment as opposed to the massive growth in mobile gaming and social media gaming.
