don't settle for some nasty Tim Horton's, or Eaton Centre public washroom

if it's during shopping hours, head down to the basement level of the Eaton Centre, the washrooms in Old Navy (yes they have their own customer washrooms) are SPOTLESS
they even have those disposable toilet seat covers

the washroom is near the change rooms

stay tuned for further editions of freshbreath's guide to taking a steamy shit downtown without contracting Hep

We had a downtown washroom thread last year and those recommendations are still pretty good.

With respect to Eaton Centre, I've never been to the Old Navy one, but if you take the SEARS elevator to the upper floors, those washrooms are absolutely prisitine - hardly anyone usues them except the 3 or 4 salespeople who work up there - the ones in Houswares in the hallway behind the carpet section are the best, 6th or 7th floor I believe.

The Bay's washrooms aren't bad once you go above the first couple of floors were all the teens and riff-raff are.

In terms of the general area, it is well worth while to walk to a Hotel if you can make it. Sheraton's basement washrooms are usually open until midnight, as are the ones upstairs in the section with the conference 7 ballroom facilities. Delta Chelsea main floor bathrooms are servicable, while the upstairs one is outsdanding.

I haven't been, but I would imagine that the Pantages Hotel (across the street & just north of Masey Hall) would be pretty good too. The Marriot Hotel attached to the Eaton's Centre probably isn't too bad either.

Now he knows his turd well. 5th or 6th floor, where the electronics department is located. The fixtures are dated but in good condition, very clean. Door locks good, TP well stocked, quiet ambience , cool temperature. Excellent short term hideaway for deep thinking , or taking dump .

The good : cleaniness; whatever should be functional ,they are; quiet

The bad: cold , uninspiring lighting. Dated looks.

Verdict: absolutely worth your while if you are not in a rush to release.

The washroons in the Marriott Hotel at Bell Trinity Square [next to the Eaton Centre] are pristine. Also, there is the washrooms on the second floor of Indigo in the Eaton Centre. They are pretty good, well... above average anyways...

It's good to know the Indigo bathroom is servicable. The Indigos at Manulife and Yonge-Eglinton are cramped, dim and poorly kept, worse than mall washrooms.

I'd still go with the upper floors at SEARS. Hardly anyone even knows about them but they get the same amount of maintenance visits. Plus that hallway area looks just like it did in the old Eatons days, it's kind of nostalgic. It's also a nice quiet place to use the payphone or talk on your cell.

Just list them here as well.

For me the worst washroom I went to in downtown was this place I forget the name on College near Spadina. Not only did it looked unserviced or cleaned in years... No soap, no paper towels, very dull lighting, sivlerfish in the sink... the kicker was that the basement where it was was only 5'11" high. I know because I'm 6ft exactly and had to bend down at least an inch to walk around down there. <LOL>

P.S. Cheap beer though.

As a kid, when I had no money, I would visit Toronto to party. I would sleep in my car and take showers at the Delta Hotel swimming pool. In those days you could just sneek in and out.

Wait, I'm all grown up and still don't have any money.
