Is there a special splitter required to hook up two different recievers to DN.
right now i have a splitter that recieves 4 LNB inputs and one output to reciever. i take it i would have to get one with two outputs?

As data said, conventional cable TV splitters don't work in the satellite world. What you have right now came with your FTA and is called a Diseqc switch (4 into 1) and it's used to connect up to 4 Dishes (LNBs) into 1 FTA receiver.

The sats that you are trying to get (i.e. 61.5, 82, 91,110,119), kind of LNBs you have (single, dual), number of FTAs, and number of real receivers (non FTA vs. FTA) dictates the number and kind of switches you need.

Some different common examples:

A sub receiver and FTA for just 91, then all you need is a dual LNB.

A sub receiver and 2 FTAs for just 91, then a dual LNB and a 2X4 voltage switch

A sub receiver and FTA for 82 and 91, then two dual LNBs and two SW21 switches

A sub receiver and 2 FTAs for 82 and 91, the two dual LNBs and a SW44 switch

Two FTAs for 110 and 119, then two dual LNBs and two Diseqc switches

Two FTAs for 61.5, 110 and 119, then three dual LNBs and 2 Diseqc switches

Three FTAs for 110 and 119, then two dual LNBs and a 4 port 22Khz switch
