No, actually it's been front page news here for a few days and we do care because the guy in question, Steve West, is an a-hole. He was a hatchet man when he worked for Ralph and he proposed further and deeper cuts to the civil service. Included in his proposed cuts was the elimination of almost every single job in the communications section of the Alberta government. Interestingly enough, it is the job of the very people whose heads he placed on the chopping block to now express the government's position as to why these payments are justified.red said:

Oh Christ, don't even get me started on the most powerful waiter in the country! That man is absolutely poison. He's evil, he's an idiot and he's at the moment the single most powerful man in this province. When he goes I'm sure his will be the largest payout in Alberta history.
