Nolan Johnson says he 'didn't mastermind' $850,000 fraud

Nolan Johnson admits to being a drug dealer and money launderer, but he takes offence at the suggestion he swindled $850,000 from a disabled man in Ottawa.

In a telephone interview from Jamaica, where he has lived since late 2006, Johnson denied any involvement in the fraud that broke Doug Macklem's heart and left him deeply in debt.

"I didn't mastermind nothing," said Johnson, speaking publicly for the first time about his alleged role in the crime.

Johnson was an unindicted co-conspirator in the January trial of his wife, Darquise, who was convicted on five fraud-related charges.

i was surprised that she even got 4 years but she is also eligible for parole after a year, i bet she will be out by this time next year.

Sounds good to me, she can't repay the victim if she isn't earning. Her pimp isn't about to fork any of it over. Let her get a taste of jail so she knows what will be more permanent if she doesn't repay the poor guy. Then let her out to do it.
