the trump like hypocrisy will be front and centre. Leave us the Fords alone as we attack everybody else who dared to expose what a horrible person Rob was and Doug is. Of course other politicians do drugs - but not with gang members - and they don't show up to public events representing the City smashed.
Attacks on the media, NDP, other politicians and whitewashing the crackhead all to be expected.
i could care less if my mayor smoked crack. proof is in the pudding. since the new guy got in office, how many times has my taxes been raised? some of you people are so blind.

There is more to being a good and effective Mayor than cutting taxes and calling back old ladies whose garbage cans weren't put back nicely.
While simple people think that there is a lot of "fat" in the budget, nobody is willing to slash the police budget and other huge items. And everyone cries when skating rinks are closed etc. You can only negotiate so much on photocopy paper.
Being Mayor of Toronto is a responsibility that includes looking towards the future and addressing bigger issues of liveabilty and infrastructure etc. You can't improve the city and cut taxes at the same time. It is simply not possible.
And Toronto property taxes are already the lowest mill rate in the GTA.
I agree with you. The argument from the lefties is that a mayor who smokes pot (or dallies with prostitutes) is open to extortion and, therefore, might offer a contract to the mob to build a subway at 10 times market value. Actually, I think the union bullies are building subways at 10 times market value in any case.

He was a Mayor who smoked crack cocaine! He was crackhead junkie who hung out in drug dens with gun dealing criminal gang members.
And he was not only "open to extortion", he was extorted because of smoking crack with said criminals. Just that these criminals only wanted a hundred grand in cash or something(?).

He was a fat, undisciplined, alcoholic junkie who LIED about all of it and attacked and called others LIARS for reporting what was in fact, the truth.
He lacked character and moral fibre. He was a de facto criminal. He, and any other crack smoking junkie who hung out in drug dens with gang members had/have no business being Mayor of the City of Toronto nor holding any public office or position.
Many in Toronto forget the simple fact that we actually have one of the lowest property tax rates in the GTA. Yet we kept electing buffoons like Ford, Lastman and Harris that slash blindly and do not invest in infrastructure. Worse off Harris spent billions on a subway to nowhere. I guess it's too logical to continually invest smaller amounts money towards infrastructure every year vs trying to pay for mega-projects every 50 years.
Being fat has nothing to do with it. One thing that always bothered me was that Doug was basically co-mayor along with his brother; always speaking for and defending him. Nobody elected Doug for the Mayor's office so let Rob do his damn job and answer for his own mistakes!

And yeah, I agree. Brother Doug sure sliithered his way into the limelight through his brother. Without the limelight he is just another bored millionaire heir who is invisible. Guys like him and Trump are addicted to being in the limelight and just being acknowledged. Neither has any great vision for, nor authentic and sincere interst in society, just a need for personal aggrandizement. <yawn>
I do think that Rob Ford did care about helping people in his own small, token ways. Which is admirable, despite his bad character.
