Stop running widgets or playing videos and turn the screen brightness to 20% or so on the Galaxy S, that should fix it.

that was only a problem on the original Galaxy S. the Galaxy S 2 has no issue. however my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 update suffers a screen lag issue!
plus the Galaxy S 2 has a better battery than iPhone AND I can buy a spare
