New GM Paul Holmgren is said to be looking to make a blockbuster trade to shake things up, with winger Simon Gagne’s name being floated

Former Flyers captain Dave Poulin paid a rare visit to Philadelphia Saturday night. Poulin, an administrator at the University of Notre Dame, said he was in Baltimore Saturday attending the Notre Dame-Navy football game and was scouting the Flyers-Penguins game for Brian Burke of the Anaheim Ducks. Burkey is apparently interested in some talent in Philly, however, interim Philly GM is interested in an assistant and asked Poulin if he'd consider an interview.

Brian Burke and Dave Poulin are good friends. I believe that at one time Burke was Poulin's agent.

I'm not sure about Gagne, didnt he just sign a long term deal 5 yr $26.5M. I doubt anyone would be interested in Hatcher or Rathje, big contracts and too slow for new nhl.They would be dumb to trade away the young guys like Richards and Carter.
