Hey guys,

I'm one win away from clinching 1st place in our football pool. With that comes a $700 1st place prize. This week I have a tough decision and would like some input from others.

I can only start one QB.
Drew Brees in Oakland
Brett Favre in Houston

1pt every 10yds passing
6pts every TD passing
minus 5pts for an INT

Who would you pick for this weeks game?

Brees

Favre may always be money, but the Raiders D SUCKS!

Houstons D is not too shaby, go with Brees.
I agree with tithunter. Raiders are really having problems, and Brees' confidence is high. Reche Caldwell is making a huge difference in their passing game by taking some heat off Kellen Winslow...I mean Antonio Gates.

Farve may have a tougher time in Houston.

I would be interested to know how it turns out for you.

I agree with tithunter although I am a Packer fan Houston's defence is pretty good and the Packers will run the ball a lot in what looks to be a tight low scoring game. Brees will be slinging the ball everywhere in a high scoring shootout in Oakland. Oakland will probably win this game but SanDiego will have to try to comeback meaning lots of passing from Brees. Seuss says take Brees.

Houston's rank against the pass is 28th, Oaklands is 23rd. Check Oakland secondary, they had some injuries last game. Plus Houston may have a shot in a shoot out w/ Greenbay. Both teams may be airing it out. Brees may not have to throw that much against Oakland to win. I go with Farve.

Are there any other Fantasy Footballers out there. This would be a great place to discuss strategy before the weekends. Not many threads in this area now.

Gotta go with Brees. Personally, I'd be picking Houston in an upset this weekend. Just a hunch.

Thanks for the input, i'll let you guys know how it went. I just need to win one of our last three games to clinch top spot.

I've used Favre every week aside from his bye week. But Brees is putting up sick numbers as of late with no INT's so my decision is a tough one.

Hopefully...but...how would Brees handle the cold?

But back to the original topic, Favre is always money on big games; but....

If it's a choice for this week, the numbers favor Brees.
Brees threw for 4 td at the last game before the bye. Oaklands secondary looks bad and they look old. GB might have to establish the run vs Houston (especially at home). Houston plays with confidence at home, though I don't think their QB is quite ready for the big games yet.

Brees is still looking for a team for next year, now is a good time to showcase yourself. It's time to run up the scoreboard - plus he's been hot.

I'm just envious you have the choice of Favre and Brees. I think it is almost a coin flip, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Brees because he has been playing like he is unconscious lately.

Not exactly the same thing, but I have Baron Davis on my fantasy basketball team, and now that he is hurt, I wish I had the equivalent of a Brees to sub for him. I still have Rafer Alston, but as my backup point guard, I'll have to rely on Chucky Atkins. Chucky Atkins!

That's my thinking aswell about Brees and his performance last time against Oakland. I'll be pondering this till Sunday. Ten weeks into the season I always said Favre will be the guy but for someone reason this week I'm wavering..........

How will Brees handle the cold? Didn't he play at Purdue? Or was it Penn State. Either way, two cold climate areas.

The problem with that is - Brees is probably used to the california sun. He was a lot younger in college - hell in college, most guys will play in Anchorage for a scholarship.

Plus the college schedule is different, the pace is different and certainly the exposure is different.

I hope Brees goes to GB...and should that happen, hopefully all that time in SD hasn't soured him to a cold weather home team.

Brees, i only say that cause i am a lifelong charger fan. Raiders should play them tougher this time around, after the schlacking they got last time.

Wish me luck I'll let you guys know how I fared.

Favre got 35pts
Brees got 34pts

With Ahman Green getting injured on the 1st play my chances of winning were flushed down the toilet. I'm up by 6 with David Givens and Adam Vinatieri still to play. My opponent has Trent Green. I don't like my chances.
