William Carr Oller Jr. apparently ain’t no karaoke superstar.
At least not according to his father. The 70-year old man was allegedly so angered by his son’s country music karaoke singing in the house, that he went out to his pickup truck, got his semi-automatic and shot him multiple times.
The father also shot himself in the leg, according to the Shasta Sheriff County Office in California.
The father, William Henry Oller, Sr., has been charged with the attempted murder of his 50-year-old son. He pleaded not guilty on Monday and remains in jail according to the Record Searchlight.
Oller Sr. was visiting his son’s home Thursday afternoon when he became incensed by his son’s singing. He left the house, saying something like “I’m going to shut you up,” according to the sheriff’s report.
The officers have said they don’t know which song or which artist Oller Jr. was singing at the time, reports the Record.
Once Oller Sr. got his gun from his truck, he pointed at his son who followed him outside. His son went back into the house and locked the door. When he opened it later, his father was still there on the front porch. A physical fight ensued resulting in several gunshot wounds, according to the report.
“I can’t believe he shot me,” Oller Jr. said while waiting for the paramedics to arrive, said the sheriff’s report.
